COVENANT NEWSPAPER - FREETOWN CITY COUNCIL DISINFECTS MARKETS AS PART OF COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

On the final day of the national lockdown, FCC disinfected five markets as part of an effort to prevent the spread of diseases like COVID-19 in markets.

The markets that benefitted from this exercise were Black Tank Market (Regent Road Lumley), Lumley Market, Kroo Town Road Market, Congo Market (Smythe Street) and Bombay Market.

The disinfection exercise, not to be confused with fumigation, involved the use of mild chemicals to kill germs and other bacteria in the markets.

The chemicals used to clean pose no danger to the market women or their customers who will be in the markets as the disinfectant team assured the general public.

Thank and appreciation was extended to Phadijah General Services for offering pro-bono services for the exercise to the people of this country.
