Hon. Manso Dumbuya invites stakeholders of Tonko Limba chiefdom in order to explain the dangers of coronavirus and preventive measures to contain the spread. Friday, April 10, 2020.

 He called on authorities to be law-abiding in terms of maintaining the curfew in the District from 8 PM to 7 AM daily until further notice, the prohibition of all public market (Luma) which attracts many people from Guinea and Liberia and advised on the acceptance on the issue of strangers that will be accommodated by chiefs and other family members that might bring the virus in their Community.

He further called on the community health officer (C.H.O) of the community health centre,  Musa Mansaray who explained the symptoms of coronavirus such as running nose, sneezing, cold and fever, coughing and difficulty in breathing.

He advised people to make good use of the hospital as many people are abandoning health centres and staying at home with diseases that might kill them besides the corona virus.

The pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under five need very care and attention and encourage them to make use of the facility. He stated that there is a lot of medicines and it is for them to make use of them. He advised people to continuously wash their hands with soap and water, avoid handshaking, avoid public gathering and practice very good hygiene.

The Regent Chief of Tonko Limba, Pa Adikalie Sesay asked the people to accept all government regulations as regards to the state of a public health emergency.

He said he has called all the section chiefs at a meeting to conductive themselves very well and adhere to all regulations and set up by-laws for people who would not follow the curfew order from 8 PM to 7 AM daily. He has also written a letter to Luma contractor tour stop collecting market dues from traders so that no Luma will operate. 

According to him, he is one of the happiest men for the coming of Hon. Manso Dumbuya to emphasize on the regulations set which someone will like to breach.

Hon. Manso Dumbuya said he loves his people and he does not want them to have any sickness and he is ready to make sure they are protected and his own resources to buy 20 veronica buckets, 3 cartoons anti-bacterial hand soap, 3 cartoon hand sanitizers, 2 megaphones for the task force to do sensitization, 1 inferred thermometer for the main entrance to the township, 1 box face masks, 1 giant Milla tank that

can take 300 litres water that will be at the main junction of Madina so that the public can wash their hands at all times, 20 stools for placing the veronica buckets, 1 box hand gloves and 20 rubber bowls for hand washing.

The community applauded the efforts of Pa Manso Dumbuya for the timely intervention and they promised to make proper use of all the items as they are all ready to fight coronavirus.  All items were distributed among the stakeholders representing the entire Chiefdom.

 In another development, the solar power energy power installation has started since last week and the work is in progress.

The pits have been dug and they are now erecting them in all areas in Madina. A lot of youths have been employed who are striving hard to earn their living.

The youth Chairman, Emmanuel M. Kargbo said the problem of youth employment was a challenge and they are very happy that are engaged and will receive something that will encourage them to avoid stealing and begging. In the next three months, the work will be completed and Madina will be electrified.

In another development, Hon. Manso A. Dumbuya has a passion for the young people of Tonko Limba and he is in a desperate mode to see them technically incline so he decided to construct a technical and vocational centre as a project.

He started this construction work early this year 2020 and that the engineer has made the layout, foundation digging and concreting has been completed. There are over 400 bags of cement, sand; over 4000 bricks on the floor, 180 pieces of the iron rod and labour force are in full gear as the work is in progress.

He stated that this is a bit of his determining project and that he has more project for the people of Tonko Limba through concerted effort working with government and NGOs on more developmental activities that will better the lives of his people. 

He finally calls on all stakeholders to stand united and uphold each other so that the young generation of Tonko Limba will have a better future.
