The Albino Savers Association -SL has on Saturday 16th May 2020 donated face masks and food items which include: onions, rice, bottles of oil and other eateries to over thirty beneficiaries in Freetown, in a bid to support the livelihood of its members during this Corona virus pandemic.
The National Coordinator for the Albino Savers Association, Mrs. Josephine Y. Kamara expressed her utmost thanks and appreciation to their sponsors for their timely gesture and support. She maintained that, “the pandemc has affected every sector of human activities which has resulted to an unprecedented global financial crisis”. Mrs Kamara sent her unwavering regards to Mr. Peter, Mr. Abubakarr Sankoh and Mr. Saheed Kargbo for exploring every opportunity to supporting Albinos in Sierra Leone.
Mrs. Mariatu B. Lassie, a beneficiary, rained praises and appreciation to their benefactors who live in Germany for their unstinting love and welfare support. She further stated that, they are very happy for the donation of face masks, food items, financial package amongst other things. She bid goodness and prosperity in favour of their benefactors. There was an expressed joy, smile and confidence amongst beneficiaries— and the donation has brought so much relief to them.
“We are so happy for this donation, especially at a time when we needed it the most” she averred.
The Albino Savers Association-SL is a chapter of the Albino Savers Association Global. It constitutes a membership of 160 Albinos, and the Association is geared towards protecting the interests of Albinos in Sierra Leone at all times.
