INLINE WITH PRESIDENT BIO’S VISION, DEPUTY ENERGY MINISTER TURNS SODS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A YOUTH MULTI-PURPOSE COMPLEX AT TOMBO

The Deputy Minister of Energy, Dr.Eldred Tunde Taylor, has on behalf of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio turned the sod for the construction of a multi-purpose complex for the youth and people of Tombo in rural Freetown. The ceremony which took place at Tombo on Saturday, August 8 attracted several personalities and communities in rural Freetown.

Speaking at the ceremony , Ronald Cole, who gave his piece of land for the construction project, said that he was pleased to avail the said piece of land for the construction of the complex. He said he has always been a strong member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party and was committed to seeing that the party got firmly rooted at Tombo, adding that he was giving his piece of land with all his heart to show the SLPP stakeholders that Tombo people were now ready to stake their collective neck for the party .

Deputy Minister of Energy praised President Bio for his vision, noting that he was at the ceremony to fulfill the dream of the President. He told the people that they were one and the same irrespective of party affiliation. Dr.Taylor went on to say that the complex would bring cohesiveness and development. He praised the people of Tombo for supporting the President during the 2018 elections, noting that 2018 churned out the highest number of votes for the SLPP at Tombo.

Dr. Taylor described President Bio as a caring President while recalling the instant intervention of the President when Tombo was adversely hit by flash floods. He assured the women that something big was underway for them and called on all to avoid violence and to unite for national development.

The Director General of NATCOM, Daniel Kaitibi, who was present at the ceremony pledged to help the project with 50 bags of cement , while the Deputy Minister of Energy promised some 25 bags of cement to add to the initial 25 bags he had provided. Other community stakeholders made donations towards the project.

The turning of the sod was climaxed by jubilation and joy.
