On Sunday 30th August 2020, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. David Panda Noah visited the Southern Regional Headquarters.
He was received by the AIG South, William Fayia Sellu. The AIG gave a short briefing to the Minister on the current security situation in the Region. He informed the Minister on the issues of land disputes which have the tendency to lead to spontaneous outbreak of violence.
He briefed the Minister on series of joint operations with the RSLAF in enforcing the night curfew and border patrols and with the ACC and WAEC in monitoring the ongoing exams. The Honourable Minister, in his response, commended the efforts of the Police in the South for their relentless effort in the achievement of safety and security in the Region.
He entreated the AIG to pass on his profound thanks and appreciation to the rank and file of the SLP. He added that he will engage the Minister of Local Government with a view to address the issues. He furthered that he is working closely with the Inspector General of Police to seek the welfare of the SLP to enhance service delivery.
