The National Social Security and Insurance Trust is assiduously working towards establishing an office in the Moyamba district in the Southern Region.
A team headed by the General Manager in charge of Administration and Human Resource, Peter Jusu Kenah, on Tuesday 17th November, 2020, held discussions with stakeholders at the Moyamba District Office on the status of the project, and also inspected the parcel of land for the construction of the Sub office.

Speaking to the stakeholders, Mr. Kenah expressed Management’s commitment to have a permanent office in Moyamba, stating that over the years, NASSIT had been serving the district through the Regional office in Bo by sending Inspectors and Cashiers to service pensioners and conduct inspections on existing establishments.

According to Mr. Kenah, his team was in Moyamba with the consent of Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, and in collaboration with the District Office to identify and demarcate the land for the construction of the Sub office.

On his part, the Paramount Chief of Kayamba Chiefdom, Chief Foday Momoh Gulama, lauded the efforts of NASSIT in bringing the Scheme closer to the people of Moyamba. He said over the years, people would have to wait for the NASSIT team to visit Moyamba, or they had to travel to Bo or Freetown to access their benefits, and to express their concerns. He pledged the support of the community to the project.

On his part, the Moyamba District Officer, Haroun Kpaka, joined the Paramount Chief in commending NASSIT for the initiative and the speed with which the process was going. “I am highly impressed with your speed and adherence to the right procedures and protocols in the pursuit of the project”, he said, and encouraged NASSIT to also engage the Assets Commission in the process, and to copy him with all correspondences regarding the transaction.

The visit ended with a conducted tour on the land for the proposed office.
