As They Break the Myth of Communication..... Africell is Unlimited

Africell the leading mobile phone company has embarked on a massive expansion program in all sixteen districts in Sierra Leone. As part of their effort to reach the underserved communities.

The Communications Manager Eku Lake said they are pushing hard to reach underserved and hard to reach communities so that people in those areas will have access to communication and benefit from the company’s numerous promotions they are holding.

“As I speak now, twenty-three new sites have been constructed and fully operational with all the necessary services including voice calls, promotions, and data,” Mr. Lake said.

He emphasized that the Company has also optimized or upgraded communities including the Western Area to avoid the congestion of traffic, adding that millions of United States dollars have been put into this project. He said the Technical and Commercial teams are presently working in the various districts across the country to enable them to achieve their desired goal of taking the network to the people.

He assured Sierra Leoneans that by the end of this year, they would have covered a good portion of the country. Mr. Lake called on the people to continue to patronize Africell as they have the affordable and cheapest network and fastest internet service.

In his contribution, the Estate Manager, John Bangura said the expansion process started in 2020, stressing that this is the biggest expansion program the Company is undertaken.

He said: “We did between 50 and 60 sites across the country starting last year,” adding that the Company plans to do another eighty new locations before the end of the year. He said the remaining sites will come up before the rains, noting that the poor road network is a major challenge affecting their work.

He said their action demonstrates their commitment to stay in the country for long and that they are ready to provide the required services to the people. “We are pleading to all our revered subscribers to continue to exercise patience with us as we are ever more determined to provide them with the services they want,” Mr. Bangura said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Human Resource Abdul Aziz Gabisi said the Company is driven by the need to take its services to underserved communities.
