DIB Intensifies “Kush Must Go” Campaign in the Provinces

The leading flagbearer aspirant of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, has taken his nationwide “Kush Must Go” campaign to the provinces as he continues to raise awareness on the devastating impact of the dangerous synthetic drug known as kush.

Addressing a large gathering in Kenema, Dr. Bangura passionately condemned the use and spread of kush, describing it as a “cheap but deadly substance made up of toxic chemicals that send many of our young people to their early graves.”

He expressed deep concern over the alarming rate at which the drug has destroyed the lives and futures of many young Sierra Leoneans.

“This cheap substance has taken away the potential of our youths and rendered many of them hopeless, on my way here, I saw young men and women our future leaders lying motionless on the streets and others leaning against walls in a daze, it broke my heart,” he lamented.

Dr. Bangura explained that the continuous supply and distribution of kush across the country have worsened the crisis, noting that many users either overdose and die or suffer from severe psychiatric conditions and organ failure. He warned that unless swift action is taken, the epidemic could erase an entire generation of vibrant Sierra Leonean youth.

Kush is currently destroying families, breaking homes, and separating young people from their dreams, Dr. Bangura emphasized.

He urged parents, community leaders, and authorities to unite and take firm action against drug dealers and suppliers who profit from the suffering of others.

As part of his message of hope and restoration, Dr. Bangura assured citizens that he will continue to advocate for national policies aimed at eradicating harmful drugs, strengthening rehabilitation programs, and empowering the youth through education and employment opportunities.

“The fight against kush is not just a campaign it’s a fight for our nation’s future,” he declared.

Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s “Kush Must Go” initiative continues to gain momentum across the country as he tours different regions, engaging communities, schools, and local leaders in the collective effort to save Sierra Leone’s youth from the grip of drug abuse.
