In a short but colourful ceremony held on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, at the Harbour Police Station, the Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Harbour Division, CSP Emmanuel Kpulun, officially presented the new Zonal Police Partnership Committee (ZPPC) and Community Safety Volunteer (CSV) members of the Dubai Community to the Regional Commander of Freetown-East, AIG Brima Kanneh.
Standing before the small gathering of community representatives, CSP Kpulun gave a brief history of the Dubai community, describing it as a hilly, mountainous area, with narrow paths that make access difficult even for police officers on foot patrols. He explained that the creation of the new ZPPC and CSV groups, with support from community stakeholders and the Regional Secretary of the LPPB, Mr Melbourne Greene, was a major step toward strengthening security cooperation and community policing.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, Chairman Abdul Turay expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them. He assured both the LUC and AIG Kanneh of their full commitment to support the fight against crime, especially within their hard-to-reach communities.
In his response, AIG Brima Kanneh warmly welcomed and commended the volunteers for their selfless decision to work with the police. He described their role as a clear demonstration of true community policing, urging them to remain disciplined, vigilant, and dedicated. He further assured them that the police would continue to provide full support and guidance to help make their community safer and more secure.
The presentation ended with group photographs and words of encouragement as officers and volunteers interacted in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
