Kenema City, 7th November 2025
Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed “Omodu” Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has visited Kenema after two months and joined the Muslim community in performing the Jumah prayers at the Kenema Central Mosque.
The sermon was delivered by Sheikh Alhaji Kutubu, the Regional Chief Imam, who warmly welcomed Jagaban for joining them in prayer. He expressed great joy over his presence, describing the day as a blessing for the entire congregation. The Imam’s sermon focused on unity, peace, and love, reminding Muslims to continue showing compassion toward one another; as such harmony strengthens both faith and the nation. He also appealed to Jagaban for support toward the ongoing construction of the mosque.
In his remarks, Jagaban thanked the Chief Imam and the congregation for their warm reception. He shared a brief history of his roots in Kenema, noting that his late father, Alhaji Amara, was once a resident of Blama Town in Small Bo Chiefdom, Kenema District. Jagaban mentioned that he attended his primary and junior secondary schools there before continuing his education in Freetown.
Reflecting on the Imam’s sermon, Jagaban emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and love among Muslims. He stated that regardless of tribe, be it Themne, Fullah, or Mende, Muslims all speak one language: Allahu Akbar, Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah.
He encouraged everyone to uphold love and togetherness to build a stronger nation. To support the construction of the mosque, Jagaban generously donated NLe100,000 to the Jammat (congregation) for the continuation of the project. His gesture was met with loud appreciation and gratitude.
