The Third Report of the Committee on Appointments and Public Service, chaired by the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Hon. Sahr Mathew Nyuma, was approved on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The report saw the approval of seven presidential nominees by Parliament.
1. Dr. Susan Amie Robert, Deputy Commissioner, National Commission For Social Action (NaCSA)
2. Mr. John Vandi Rogers, Director General, National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA)
3. Mr. Sulaiman B. Sowa (Esq), Deputy Director General, National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA)
4. Mr. Noah Mansaray, Chairman, Sierra Leone National Shipping Agency
5. Mr. Abdul Manaf Kemokai, Chairman, National Social Protection Authority Board
6. Mr. David Allen Amara, Member, Sierra Leone Roads Authority
7. Mr. Gideon Gbappy, Member, Board of Directors, Sierra Leone National Shipping Agency
Presenting the nominees to the plenary, Hon. Nyuma explained that the nominees were interviewed under oath and assessed based on their experience, track record, tax obligations, asset declaration, and vision for their tenure. He stated that the report reflects the unanimous view of the committee.
The Deputy Leader of Opposition, Hon. Aaron Aruna Koroma, seconded the motion, emphasizing the importance of competence and delivery in the nominees’ roles. He praised Dr. Susan Robert, nominee for NaCSA, and encouraged her to work with her substantive boss for national development.
Other members of Parliament, including Hon. Wuyatta Songai, Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara, Hon. Musa Shiaka Sama, Hon. Mustapha Sellu, Hon. Neneh Lebby, and Hon. Dixon Rogers, also contributed to the debate, offering words of encouragement and advice to the nominees.
The Majority Leader, Hon. Mathew Sahr Nyuma, urged the nominees to work tirelessly for the development of the state and to implement institutional policies. He emphasized the importance of institutional memory and national development.
The Deputy Leader of Opposition, Hon. Daniel Brima Koroma, encouraged the President to continue giving opportunities to women and urged the nominees to focus on performance. He also requested that the nominee to SLRSA renovate the road from Model junction to Parliament.
The nominees were approved by Parliament, and the Majority Leader congratulated them on their approval. He urged them to be receptive to Members of Parliament and to involve them in project implementation for collective national development.
