AS GUINEA CONFIRMED ONE CASE…. SIERRA LEONE IN TROUBLE

As guinea confirms the first case of the coronavirus with a Belgian national, the Ministry of Health and Sanitation became worrisome with the view that a huge chance coronavirus is already in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The Aeroplane that flew to guinea with the Belgian national that was tested positive made transit to Freetown first before landing in guinea.

Henceforth, the ministry of health and sanitation should pay attention to all those who were on board that flight, where the Belgian who was positive in Guinea was, byline listing them and also passport holders arriving from countries with high cases of coronavirus. We quarantine them for 14 days.

We not ignore the fact that they must have sat with others on the flight that was not necessarily from hard-hit countries and therefore are let through. It’s easy to get those who sat by everyone on a plane in a contact-tracing, but if they’ve already come into contact with many people on their way home or to the hotel, that’s how it gets off the radar. So, even though Sierra Leone so far has no confirmed cases of Covid-19, large gatherings should be discouraged or even suspended. The local football league should be suspended. Cinemas should be closed. Schools should remain open but must observe strict protocols especially hand washing. Let the president get all political party heads to a consultative meeting. Let Parliament call a special session on coronavirus. These are in addition to an earlier recommendation.
