Babadi Kamara Boosts Education in Bo

The Executive Director of Lead Way Company, the government licensed timber exported company, who doubles as the Chairman of Bo Rangers, Mr. Babadi Kamara has boosted and compliment the Free Quality Education Project by donating essential learning materials to senior secondary schools in Bo, southern Sierra Leone.

Speaking to this medium, Mr. Kamara said the donation was part of his continued effort to compliment the effort of His Excellency the President Brigadier (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio in providing free and quality education for primary and secondary pupils in government and government-assisted schools. 

He noted that education is the most powerful tool to overcome poverty and many socioeconomic challenges in society. “Everyone should prioritize learning as it is the key to enhance individual, community and national development,” he reiterated. 

Doing the donation on behalf of Mr. Babadi Kamara, the Director of Peoples Development Organization, Gassimu Mallah, described Babadi Kamara as philanthropic and development-oriented personality who is committed to actualizing growth and development of the country in different areas. He said, “Mr. Babadi Kamara has contributed immensely to education, sport, infrastructure and other development undertakings.”

Mallah said that the gesture was borne out of the genuine desire of Mr. Babadi Kamara to give back to his humble beginnings and to complement the efforts of the government in the Free Quality Education drive. He urged the beneficiaries to treat their education with utmost seriousness, adding that there were more learning materials to be donated my Mr. Kamara.

The principals of the three schools thanked Mr. Kamara for the donation and assured that the textbooks would be used for their intended purposes. They described Babadi Kamara as a man of the people and someone passionate about the education of children. They said they were looking forward to receiving more donations.

Bo School, the QRS and the UCC, all of which are senior secondary schools in Bo, each received 15 Cost Accounting textbooks. Cost Accounting is one of the core subjects in which students are examined in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

School authorities, teachers, students and parents expressed profound thanks and appreciation for what they referred to as a “laudable and kind gesture” exhibited by Mr. Babadi Kamara.
