With support from “Next Chance Organization” headed by an indigene of Kola Tree Community, the Hon Member of Parliament for the above Constituency, on Wednesday 22nd April, 2020, presented over five Hundred masks and reflectors to the Kola Tree Community Chief for the Community Health Post Workers in Ward 400.
Presenting the said items to the Chief, Hon Kanu thanked the organization for complementing her efforts and that of the government of Sierra Leone, pointed out that she was elated for the community to take upon themselves to complements her efforts and that she alone cannot do it without the support of the community.
“The covid 19 is not a respecter of Political party, tribe or region so members across the political divide have a responsibility to put hands on deck to combat it just like how we defeated Ebola” Hon Kanu averred. She pointed out that it is the responsibility of Sierra Leoneans to hands on desk to defeats it irrespective of the political party once belonging”Hon Kanu emitted
She thanked the executive of the organization and urges the Nurses to distributes the said masks to those visiting the clinic.
Hon Kanu emphasised that she will like to be a member of the organization for the progress of the ward and the Constituency as a whole and described the donation as a laudable venture.
Hon Kanu also extended a congratulatory message to the nurses for their relentless sacrifice they have been doing and still doing at this challenging times and also encouraged them to help pass on the message of covid 19.
In their statements, both the nurses and the executive of Organization thanked Hon Kanu for leaving her busy schedule to grace all this important occasion.
The providers of the masks noted that they have heard a lot of contributions Hon Kanu had made since covid 19 declared as a pandemic, reasons they thought it fit to complement her efforts because they as an organization are aware of the challenges MPs are facing.
Other speakers who also spoke on behalf of the community said that when the construction of the bridge leading to the Health post and the Kola tree road rehabilitation was on the fore year ago, Hon Kanu gave the highest contributions and that of the rehabilations of Kola tree road. Chiefs who spoke on behalf of their subjects, noted that they acknowleded and do follow the contributions of Hon Kanu in the entire Constituency.
They ended up thanking the Hon Rugiatu Rosy Kanu and admonish her to continue her good works for the betterment of mama Salone.
