With the announcement of a confirmed case of coronavirus in Sierra Leone, the U.S. Embassy would like to reaffirm the importance of preventing the spread of the virus by practicing social distancing, limiting physical conduct, and frequent hand washing.
This she demonstrated when she was seen washing her hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before she could start her speech.
She stated that coronavirus “does not recognize borders, so we must all work together by abiding by the laws laid down by experience medical professionals so that we will triumph over this disease.
She informed Sierra Leoneans that the Ministry of Health has provided 333 rapid response teams, each made up of 5 people to go in search of suspected corona infected persons and the appearance of these symptoms: (shortness of breath, cough, fever)
She urged all and sundry to stay at home during lockdowns so as to prevent in spreading the diseases.
