The APC presidential hopeful, Dr. Samura Kamara in the process of undertaking COVID-19 sensitization exercise in the eastern districts of Kenema and Kailahun provides grant worth millions of Leones to APC party members in Kenema and Kailahun districts respectively. The grant captures party members at Segbwema, Koindu, Pendebu, Daru, Dama, Dodo, Gaura, Lower Bambara etc.
Report reaching this medium stated that the financial support is to empower vulnerable men and women in the party who are seriously affected by the regulations of the coronavirus pandemic, in a bid to augment their businesses, stressing that this pilot project will be implemented in all other districts in Sierra Leone.
It was also reported that the grant does not only benefit stakeholders but also affects grassroots as well. This development however urges stakeholders in the Eastern region of Sierra Leone to heap showers of praises on Dr. Samura Kamara for such a laudable initiative, especially at this difficult economic situation.
One of the beneficiaries of the project, Joe Bockarie, who speaks on behalf of residents of Kailahun District commends Dr. Samura for such a philanthropist gift saying that this is the right time for such a gift as he stated that during the raining season people suffer grievously in these communities due to lack of food especially rice, which is the staple food of inhabitants of the mentioned communities.
Dr Samura Kamara told beneficiaries that he is not reaching out for more slogans, but for Positive actions that will impact their livelihoods. The primitive propaganda on the bread and butter campaign has yielded no dividend in the lives of Sierra Leoneans. Dr Samura averred.
Addressing a cross section of APC party stakeholders and other beneficiaries, Dr. Samura commends members of the executive for abiding to safety protocols in the fight against covid 19. He urged party executive and officials to have a strong desire for unity inorder to quickly move the suffering comrades and Sierra Leoneans in general from poverty to prosperity, as only a United APC will fundamentally change the economic, infrastructural, health and social backwardness Sierra Leone is currently experiencing. Hundreds of facemasks were distributed to help in the fight against the coronavirus in the country.
