FCC, CARE, DONATE TO ALLENTOWN TOWN HEALTH CENTER

In a bid to compliment the effort of the president in the fight against the spread of COVID 19, the Freetown City Council (FCC) in collaboration with CARE INTERNATIONAL donated recent veronica buckets and packets of soap to the Allentown Community Health Center.

Speaking on this occasion Moumodu Seasy, representing CARE INTERNATIONAL, said that it is difficult to fight the coronavirus single handedly so therefore Care international is joining hands with Freetown City Council to ensure that they adhere to the best practices of coronavirus so as to contribute in driving the virus away from Sierra Leone.

He appeal to nurses in the hospital to take good care of the facility so that all of us will work towards promoting the measures that will help us defeat the scourge of the coronavirus.

The Community Health Officer, Adama Sesay appreciated the donors for their gifts as he suggested that the center needs more soap and flyers to educate members of the community as to how to tackle the virus from spreading in the country as a whole.

The councilor of ward 399, Alhassan Bangura, on behalf of key stakeholders and community partners in development thanked care international for their support and also thanked her lordship the mayor Aki Sawyer for her lobbying ability to provide these items to the community health center.

He said he is confident that the Allentown community people will make good use of this opportunity as we are fighting the coronavirus.

The councilor furthered that this is not the first time of the council involving in the promotion of the Allentown community health center as he reflected that the health center was rehabilitated by former Mayor Bode Goibson and that FCC as a key partner has contributed immensely to the development of the Allentown community.
