Two term President of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma in his address on international peace day has pleaded to the world especially his home country where he was the president for two term to make peace more permanent.
Ex- president Koroma said “We should do so with the determination to make peace more permanent throughout our beloved Sierra Leone, in our region and indeed our world. We should be United in our collective fight for our common aspiration”
He further encouraged Sierra Leoneans to resolve their differences, saying that people may have their doubts about covid-19 and the threats to climate changes it poses, but he said people have more formidable enemies than the disagreements they’re having with misconceptions and suspicion they often entertain about each other.
Ernest Bia Koroma who is now a global peace ambassador since he peaceful handed power to President Bio over two years ago was not going to end his address without making mention about maintaining peace at home since he knows what it takes to maintain peace in a fragile state for he said “We must do everything to resolve our differences be they political disagreements, national insurrections, border disputes, ideological or trade. Sierra Leone, Africa and the World needs to come together now as one United family to confront and defeat the many challenges that threaten our shared destiny” he concluded.
