fuel price hike sparks outrange

Activist Edmon Abu Urge Government and fuel dealers to reconsider the Le 28.00 Per Litre Increase.

Edmond Abu Jr., Executive Director of the Native Consortium and Research Centre, has condemned the recent fuel price hike from Le 25.00 to Le 28.00 per litre, calling it “irrational” given stable global fuel prices. He’s urging fuel dealers, including Jagaban and Aminata, to reconsider the government’s decision and ease the burden on Sierra Leoneans.

Abu believes the government and opposition should put aside politics and prioritise addressing the issue, which is expected to worsen the financial struggles of citizens. He also lamented the influence of politicians on civil society activists, saying it’s unacceptable.

The price hike is likely to have a ripple effect on the economy, making life more challenging for ordinary citizens. Abu is calling on stakeholders to work together to find a solution and mitigate the suffering of the population.
