NON-RESIDENTS STRANDED

The German Federal Foreign Office has set up a repatriation program for German tourists and other non-residents stranded in different countries around the world which are affected by COVID-19. This program can also be extended to travelers with a German residence permit, as well as others from European Union Member States, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Switzerland – if sufficient seats in the aircraft are available.

For Sierra Leone and Liberia, the German Federal Foreign Office has chartered a Brussels Airlines aircraft, which will fly to Brussels on Sunday, 5 April, scheduled to take off from SNA at 20h00.  Onward travel arrangements to the final destination will be the personal responsibility of each traveler.

Some of you have already expressed interest in taking part in such a flight. This has helped us to better estimate the number of people willing to leave. If you wish to take part in the flight we ask you to reply by Thursday 2nd April. Please send an e-mail to  Richards at the German embassy at vw-1000@free.auswaertiges-amt.de.

Please note: most likely there will not be enough seats available for everyone interested. We ask for your understanding that the German Embassy – in close consultation with our European partners – will have to make the final decision on the passenger list.

We will let you know ahead of time whether a seat has been reserved for you and what happens on Sunday. You must then sign an application in accordance with § 6 of the German Consular Act where you agree to reimburse the German government in the amount of an economy ticket.
