Management of Karpowership on Wednesday 1st April 2020 at the Emergency Operation Center, Wilkinson Road in Freetown, has donated useful items to the government of Sierra Leone in the fight against the deadly coronavirus in the country.
The donated items include huge quantities of Chlorine, Soap, sanitizer, tissue, thermometer and veronica bucket all to the sum of over three hundred million leones.
The Minister of Energy, Honorable Kanja Sesay said that Karpowership is not only in Sierra Leone to provide electricity but also to support the government and the people of Sierra Leone, adding that the management of Karpowership even before the outbreak of the coronavirus in Sierra Leone the management of Karpowership have prepared the said items for donation.
“Karpowership is very passionate to support us,” he said,
adding that the Ministry of Energy is very delighted that the management of
Karpowership is living up to expectation. He assured the management of
Karpowership that the government of Sierra Leone has put measured in place to
prevent the spread of the Corona Virus in the country. He thanked the
management of Karpowership for the kind gesture, adding by calling all
institutions in Sierra Leone to join in the fight against the deadly
coronavirus.

Karpowership Sierra Leone said that the management of Karpowership is not only
concern about providing electricity in Sierra Leone but also to support the
people of Sierra Leone especially in time of crisis. He underscores the fact
that coronavirus is deadly but with support from other sectors in the country,
the fight against the deadly coronavirus will be easy. He added that they
appreciate the current move of the government of Sierra Leone to maintaining
strict adherence in preventing the spread of the virus. He urged all Sierra
Leoneans to take the fight against the Corona Virus with utmost seriousness,
adding that the donated items are part of the efforts of the management of
Karpowership in support of the government of Sierra Leone to fight against the
coronavirus. He assures that they are strongly in support of the government and
the people of Sierra Leone. He admonished all Sierra Leone to stay safe and
prevent the rate of the spread of the virus.
Receiving the items on behalf of the government of Sierra Leone Retired Brigadier Kellie Conteh, the Interim National Coordinator in charge of the Corona Virus Response Team, thanked the management of Karpowership for the kind gesture, adding that the items will be judiciously used.
“A friend in need is a friend indeed,” said Brigadier Kelly Conteh, adding that long ago they were informed about the donation and he retreated that Karpowership is indeed a friend of Sierra Leone.
