Hon. Alex Mattia Rogers has urged Constituency 102 members to take Corona Virus very seriously and should not be politicized.
He made these remarks during his sensitization tour in his constituency which covers four chiefdoms (Kpaka, Kpanga Krim, Mano Sakrim and YKK) Pujehun District in Southern Sierra Leone constituency.
Hon. Alex Mattia Rogers used the opportunity to donate cartons of Power Medicated Soap, Give bathing Soap, over 40 Veronica buckets, 5 sets of Megaphon hand, 2 set of hand pumps and 2 sets of 100W Polycrystalline Solar Panels.
He donated one solar set to the Massam Town Hospital in Kpaka Chiefdom which was received by the SLPP Constituency Chairman Sallia B. Sillah while the SLPP Women’s Leader Madam Jenneh Gbonda received the veronica buckets among other items.
Hon. Alex Mattia Rogers also visited Bayama community where he donated one set of the hand water pump and inspected the water project which is the first in the history of Bayama. The Honourabe went on to say that it was part of his responsibility to better inform his people about any development and for them to be on the alert.
He pointed out that Corona Virus is quite different from the Ebola virus as someone will stand next to you looking hale and hearty only to be tested positive the next minute.
He also urged them to do regular hand washing and for them to observe social distancing.
“I believe my people will make good use of the facility and abide by what the government has said”
He added that the government is taking measures in order to save Sierra Leone from the devastating Corona Virus pandemic as they did not punish the people of this country.
Emphasizing that they should call on the authorities when they see strange visitors in their community especially those that will be coming from Liberia and Guinea and if anybody was feeling sick they should call health officials.
SLPP Women’s Leader, Madam Jenneh Gbonda thanked Hon. Rogers for the timely intervention. She described his move as a sign of love and care for his people. “What you have demonstrated shows sign of concern and love for us. We appreciate what you have done for us. God will surely bless you”.
