Popular musician cum politician, Zainab Sheriff has informed that she doesn’t need a clearance to talk to her fellow women in the country.
The “Mammy na Power” made this statement shortly after the disruption of her engagement with fellow women across the country at the Bintumani conference centre.
According to the musician, she invited her fellow women at the Bintumani conference centre to engage them on the need for them to support their fellow woman for president come 2028 general elections.
She said the police went and disrupted the entire programme, ordering everyone to leave the vicinity.
She narrated that when the Bintumani Conference Centre management approached the police to enquire why they decided to take such an impromptu action, the police commander told them that it was an order from above.
She explained that they have taken almost six months trying to organise this programme.
“As far I’m concerned the order from above doesn’t love this country and its people, the order from above doesn’t love the Green White and Blue, and this is the reason we are fighting tooth and nail to ensure we remove this order from above through the ballot box come 2028,” Zainab Sheriff stated.
“It is this order from above that will take citizens and lock them up in cells for more than three to four days without charges. This must stop,” she maintained.
Attendee Amunata Koroma from Port Loko expressed dismay over the behaviour of police officers.
Wuyata Musa from Bo said the police are being used by government officials for their selfish gain, but as far as they are concerned they will fully support their fellow women this time around.
Others who came from different parts of the country shared similar sentiments.
