Sierra Leone Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Rahman Swarray has said in a press that the Government White Paper and the Report of the Commissions of Enquiry which will be released on Thursday the 24th September, 2020 will not debar any politicians from the opposition from participating in the local politics of the country.

Minister Swaray could not say who and who the White Paper has indicted but was clear that the White Paper would seize the properties of politicians who allegedly stolen state resources and will have to return same to the state.

The Government of President Bio had instituted a Commission of Enquiry just after taking office in April, 2018 that he would investigate the Administration of Former President Ernest Bai Koroma and all those who served as Vice President, Ministers and other Government officials between November 2007 and April 2018.

The Report conducted by three sole commissioners from Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone was damning for officials of the last regime even though they had initially questioned the setting up of the Commissions of Enquiry which they say lacked the Rules of Court Committee.

Government is expected to publish the White Paper and the Report of the Commissions of Enquiry On Thursday 24th September, 2020.

Sources close to Government had hinted that the Minister of Justice, Anthony Brewah had already presented the White Paper and the Report of the COI to Cabinet.

Politicians and Civil Servants affected by the White Paper would have to challenge the content of the White Paper and the Report of the Commissions of Enquiry at the Country’s High Court.
