The Independent Police Complaints Board has slamed a guilty verdict on Alie Foster the young man (alleged attacker) shot at Deputy Minister Leema’s residence on 1st February 2020.
Presenting the findings the Boards Chairman Richard Freeman said the Police who shot Alie Foster acted professionally and called for the law to take its cause against the victim. The investigation was done pursuant to the IPCB regulations of 2013, Constitutional instrument No. 11 of 2013, Sec.3 (1)C…
Answering to questions about the status of the victim and the possible prejudice on the ongoing matter in court, the Chairman of the Board noted that their investigation is only concerned with the police officer and not the victim as per their mandate.
Speaking to press men immediately after the IPCB press conference, lead defence counsel for Alie Foster Rashid Dumbuya Esq noted that they have firstly verbally asked for the full report from the board and will do so formally in writing immediately after the press engagement.
He however noted that questions from the press have already started pointing out some grey areas of contention in the report.
Fosters father was part of the engagement. He however could not respond to media questions as advised by his Lawyer. He only expressed emotions of sorrow and shook his head in disagreement as the IPCB Chairman presented their findings.
Meanwhile Alie Foster is on Remand at the Male Correctional Centre while his legal team continues to appeal for bail so as to enable him seeking proper, professional medical attention.
