Liberia’s Inspector General of Police Pays Courtesy Call on the Vice President

Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Tuesday, 18th November 2025, warmly received the Inspector General of Police of Liberia, Hon. Gregory O. W. Coleman, at his office in Freetown, highlighting the deep human ties and long-standing friendship between the two nations.

The visit formed part of the Liberian Inspector General’s four-day working stay in Sierra Leone, aimed at strengthening cooperation and enhancing security coordination between the two sister institutions.

In welcoming the delegation, the Vice President, who is also the Head of the Police Council, expressed genuine delight at hosting them, noting that Sierra Leone and Liberia shared more than just borders; they shared people, history, and bonds built over generations.

“Welcome, welcome to all of you, to Sierra Leone,” he said.

Reflecting on the historical ties between the two nations, VP Juldeh Jalloh recalled shared experiences in Monrovia and Freetown, emphasizing that the warmth and familiarity between the two countries formed the foundation of a resilient partnership, inspiring cooperation across various sectors, especially in security.

He noted that the relationship was not only official but also deeply human, shaped by shared struggles and progress.

He added that working together as “two sister countries” offered great potential for strengthening cross-border crime prevention, improving policing standards, and ensuring safety for citizens on both sides of the Mano River.

“We value this relationship, and we believe we have a lot in common. If we work together, we can achieve a lot for our people,” he said.

The Liberian Inspector General, Hon. Gregory O. W. Coleman, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deeper collaboration.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with the Vice President extending fraternal greetings from His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio to the President of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, and calling for continued unity, trust, and shared purpose between the two countries.
