Another fire has wreaked havoc at 19 Dwarzark Farm in Freetown leaving one ((Samuel Nicol) the Landlord burnt to ashes and properties worth millions of Leones destroyed. At 1:30am Saturday, the fire emanated from a Candle that fell on the bed which caused the fire to spread swallowing up the rest of the poorly structured zinc shacks (pan bodi)
According to a tenant Joseph Bockarie a police Officer who spoke to this Press, say he was sleeping when his child wake him with a call “daddy d ose da burn” said he wakeup notice that flam has taken all over the house.
Said he lost all his properties worth millions of Leones, and even his police uniform was also burn.
Waking up from slumber, his children struggled to find escape from the raging fire in the room, and try to wake some tenant that were also residing in the same house, said the room was locked were the landlord was so he were trapped inside and left to the mercy of God.
He said they tried to break the door down and when that proved futile they scrambled form of protection in their terror with their arms around themselves as the inevitable dawned upon them to serve the landlord.
He said that there was so flaming that they could not go close to the house after the flam take taking another level, and the room that the fire stated was were the landlord was saying
During the fire accident and a Youngman tried to help save the landlord and broke his hand in the process and his accident proved to be for nothing as it was too late to save the man trapped inside and the fire had engulfed the entire place. It was also too late for the Fire Force to stop the inferno but nevertheless attempts were made though futile and they could be able to help serve some houses that were surrounding the burn house. In the process, several people were injured and most were emotionally disturbed at such a gruesome sight.
The son of the landlord Samuel Nicol Jr, said he surpose to meet with his father this morning to discuss some issue concerning the house, said around 2am he receive a call that he father house is on fire.
He said he rush straight to find out what course the fire, said when he arrive they shown his rusted dad lying dead.
He said that they have already took him at the Connaught mortuary, and they are prepare for the burial
Jana Lansana a survivor who said that she was sleeping when she heard someone knocking on his door ‘fire fire’ said she run out with are two brother and come out with only one bag in his hand were some of her document was.
The recent fire disasters in the country has left untold suffering on the people, it is only hoped that the council, Government and humanitarian organizations would render emergency humanitarian assistance to the victims of the fire disaster. the body of the deceased is at the Connaught mortuary.
