Over the past week, Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, engaged key Development Partners as part of ongoing efforts to advance national development priorities, with a strong focus on improving the lives of #citizens.

The engagements reflected his people-centered leadership approach, emphasizing collaboration that delivers practical results for #communities.

According to the Vice President, the discussions included meetings with the Regional Coordinator of the Catholic Relief Services and the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, H.E. Zhao Yong

The engagements focused on programmatic and technical support aligned with the objectives of the country’s Medium Term National Development Plan, the country’s 2024–2030 primary blueprint for achieving middle-income status by 2039.

He noted that sustained #partnerships with #development actors are critical to strengthening national systems and ensuring that development interventions respond to the real needs of the #population.

The Vice President emphasized that effective cooperation must translate into tangible benefits for ordinary citizens.

Health featured prominently in the discussions, with the Vice President sharing updates on the new Health Financing Strategy. He described the strategy as a key instrument for improving access to sustainable and quality healthcare services nationwide.

VP Juldeh Jalloh also highlighted the recently endorsed Health Compact, a national framework designed to enhance healthcare delivery through strengthened primary health systems. He stressed that the initiative is central to improving health outcomes, particularly for #vulnerable groups.

The engagements, as outlined by the Vice President in a social media post, underscore government’s commitment to people-focused development, strengthened partnerships, and reforms that place citizens’ welfare at the heart of national #planning and #implementation.
