Former Defense Minister, Major (Rtd) Alfred Palo Conteh has reportedly been charged with TREASON and other criminal charges. He is charged alongside Colonel (Rtd) Saa Sinnah and Sergeant (Rtd) Amadu Koita. It is as yet unclear if Koita and Sinnah are also charged with TREASON. They have all three been brought to the court from the prisons for the hearing to commence.

However, the case file has been temporarily withdrawn from the Magistrate court at Pademba Road where the preliminary hearings are to be held.

Credible sources inform Awareness Times, on condition of anonymity, that there is a “mistake” in the way the charge sheet was drawn up and so it has been withdrawn to be “amended” and then will be brought back down again to the court.

The security around the courts is watertight. However, the security officials tell Awareness Times that they are restricting even some well-known journalists from entering the courtroom not because of ulterior motives but as a Corona Virus preventive measure to restrict the number of persons inside any courtroom.

The full paraphernalia of the State Prosecution is right here at the courts. A very powerful prosecuting presence led by no less a person than the Director of Public Prosecutions, Easmon N.B. Ngakui Esq.

On the side of the Defense for Palo Conteh is led by Ady Macauley Esq. who has been the counsel for the accused person since his arrest and questioning? It is unclear who the lawyers are for Koita and Sinnah.
