The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has awarded the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) for its significant contributions to the media landscape in Sierra Leone. This recognition was made during SLAJ’s Handing Over and Inauguration Ceremony for its newly elected executive, held on Friday, July 11, 2015, at the Bintumani Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown.

The event gathered media professionals, stakeholders, and corporate partners to celebrate the achievements of the association.

SLAJ’s outgoing President Ahmed Sahid Nasralla praised SLCB for its unwavering support in promoting press freedom and sustainability within the media sector.

In receiving the award, SLCB expressed its appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing collaboration with the media. The bank highlighted the essential role that journalists play in fostering transparency, accountability, and national development.

“SLCB has not only supported SLAJ’s institutional activities but has also extended its goodwill support to the media,” stated SLAJ outgoing President Ahmed Sahid Nasralla.

This award underscores SLCB’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its belief in a robust, independent, and professional media sector as vital components of democracy and good governance in Sierra Leone.
