The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) played a pivotal role on the final day of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation’s annual retreat, delivering a comprehensive overview of the Transport Sector Performance Contract and presenting an insightful review of the aviation sector.

The SLCAA team provided a detailed analysis of key progress indicators and sector-wide priorities, setting the tone for the day’s discussions. This was followed by a presentation titled “What the Ministry of Transport and Aviation Needs to Know About Aviation,” which offered valuable insights into the structure of Sierra Leone’s aviation ecosystem. The presentation covered the mandates of key institutions, including SLCAA, FIA, SLAA, and SLAIIB, as well as ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), coordination mechanisms, challenges, and strategic recommendations for advancing national aviation goals.

The retreat culminated in an elegant award night, where SLCAA was recognized for its outstanding performance in the Performance Tracking Table. The Authority received an award for its dedication to safety, regulatory excellence, and sector leadership, a testament to its commitment to excellence in the aviation industry.
