In less than 24 hourd after the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) donated Leone 500m to the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Center (NACOVERC) the banks has today Friday 3rd July, 2020 donated COVID-19 healthcare items and protective gears worth two hundred and fifty million Leones (Le250, 000,000) to the 34 Military hospital, Wilberforce, Freetown.
34 Military Hospital is the lead treatment centre in the fight against the coronavirus disease in Sierra Leone.
By this donation, SLCB continues to take the lead in complementing the efforts of President Julius Maada Bio’s government in the prevention, treatment and protection of the masses against COVID-19 in the country.
SLCB has made two donations this week totaling seven hundred and fifty million Leones (Le750,000, 000); first the bank on 2nd July, 2020 boosted NACOVERC with the sum of five hundred million Leones (Le500,000,000). Today, it has dished out medical items worth Le250,000 to 34 military Hospital as an added contribution to the fight against coronavirus in the country.
The cash presentation was obtained from funds set aside to engage on massive sensitization of the people about the “dos and don’ts” in the prevention and the fight against the disease in Western Area.
