The Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Jimmy Batilo Songa, has called on party members, supporters, and well-wishers to remain law-abiding and maintain peace as the country approaches the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at the party’s headquarters in Freetown, Batilo emphasized that every member plays a vital role in shaping the party’s future, stating, “Every vote counts, and every individual contributes to ensuring the SLPP continues its governance journey.”

He reminded members of the party’s reputation as a disciplined and united political family, built on the principle of “One Country, One People.” Batilo urged members to uphold these values, especially during the pre-election period, saying, “If we want to see President Julius Maada Bio succeed, and if we desire to remain in power, then we must demonstrate discipline among ourselves.”

The party needs to stay together to ensure a united front, maintain its reputation, and increase its chances of success in the 2028 elections. Unity is crucial for the SLPP to achieve its goals and continue its governance journey.
