The National Coordinator, Global Leadership Network Sierra Leone, Rev. Christiana Sutton Koroma, said among other things that they decided to take the Church because they are members of the Church community and they are there to serve the community in all aspect of leadership.
She explained that Global Leadership Network Sierra Leone usually have their annual leadership training by this time of the year but due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and the world at large they were unable to do such.
She continued to say they therefore decided to talk to our partners that they wanted to support the aged, widows and vulnerable people. She said their partners gave them the go ahead that is why they gave the support to them as a way of helping them to stay at home and feed their families.
The donation which covered various communities in Freetown ranging from Kingtom, Sykes Street, Assession Town, Regent Road, Circular Road, Wilberforce and Brookfileds among others targeted 50 homes and the items includes: rice, onions, oil, salts, tomatoes, maggie and water among others.
$700 was used for the venture and the Network targeted various deamination of the Christian Faith.
This Rev. Christiana Sutton Koroma added is to help government in these trying times.
She also sensitized them to continue to do what health officials and the government are telling them such as the washing of our hands always, the use of face masks and for them to stay at home.
She apologized for not reaching all homes due to the resources they have.
“We will not be able to reach everybody at a point but the little we have reached that will impact greatly”
The people appreciated the gestured given by the Global Leadership Network and also prayed for the team and their families. They said they are pleased for the Church to think of them and give them such support in their little corner they are remembered and appreciated.
