The Honourable Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Lusine Kallon has on Thursday 10th September handed over a brand new air pumping machine to members of the stand seventeen car wash centres. The occasion was graced by youths of the car was centre, who extolled the Deputy Minister for his commitment towards enhancing and promoting youths livelihood skills. The Deputy Minister addressing the youths expressed his admiration for the car wash management for the proper handling of the car was the centre and stated that such impressive commitment to duty is what compelled the Ministry to provide further support towards improving the welfare of youths. He stated that His Excellency The President Julius Maada Bio had made a strong commitment towards improving the livelihood of youths in Sierra Leone to empower them to contribute towards nation-building and development. It is in this regard that the Ministry continues to commit to fulfilling the President’s promise by rendering its utmost support to the youth sector. He added that the support comes as part of the Ministry’s desire to boost the livelihood of youths, as the equipment will be of great use to youths engaged in providing care services. He implored the youths to utilize the equipment correctly and continue to maintain the values they have shown in managing the affairs of the car wash centre.
Present on the occasion was the Project Manager Livelihood Technical Skills, Mr Victor L.K Muanah, who started by thanking the Deputy for the strong support rendered by himself and the Hon Minister in improving the welfare of youths. The Livelihood Technical Skills project he says was formulated to provide support to the youth sector and engage the youths in productive skills empowerment for themselves and the nation. He also called on the youths to make judicious use of the equipment and maintain it for productive use.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the car wash management, the chairman of the car wash centre, Mr Ibrahim Sannoh expressed gracious appreciation towards the Ministry for the timely support, which he says will boost further development for the youths, as he says it can provide employment for other youths engaged in car servicing and maintenance. He thanked the Ministry for its recognition of the good work of the car wash management and promised that with the Deputy Minister’s noteworthy expression of admiration, the management will continue to further uphold its strong commitment to effectively and appropriately handling the centre.
Other youths present at the ceremony were in a euphoric mood, as they showered praises on the Minister and the Ministry for providing them such support, which they said will provide further opportunities for their colleague youths.
